We’ve all heard those lies, and no matter how hard we try we don’t seem to have any success coming up, why? Because that’s not how it works. Indeed working hard is a good advice, but it will not get you to fulfill your dreams because working hard is not enough. While you waste time working 15 hours a day, someone else is just efourtsly surpassing you and making a lot of money while you are still on the same spot month after month.
And here’s the secret: yes, you need to work hard, BUT you need to work hard in the right direction. If you work hard on your job, let’s take the car washing example again, if you work hard everyday, you can only earn a little more than usual, and in the end, save a little more money, and this is not wrong. However, you won’t buy a house this way, you won’t progress this way, because in 10 years you’ll be the most respected car washer in your area, nothing more than that. You might make a little more money than the other car washers and so what? Is this your ultimate dream? To end up old and washing cars? is this who you want to be remembered as?
You need to sort out your life now, while you still can, you never know what kind of future awaits us, and always in bad times, the mass of people who can be replaced are suffering the most, this is why you need to aquire new skills, important skills that not everybody has, so that you won’t be easy to replace
focus on priorities, don’t waste your time on useless activities like gaming or playing a sport unless you get something from it. hobbies are ok if you don’t get hooked and waste too much of your time for them. The danger with so many hobbies, specially gaming is that they give you in game achievements and that causes a release of dopamine, it brings a feelings of achieving something. But that something is in the end useless, nobody will care if you’re having a lot of in game achievements. Yes there are famous gamers that makes millions from gaming but they are not you, are they? If you think you can become like them, I’m not saying not to try, but make sure you keep the control over the situation and not let the game or any other hobby control you. Also, don’t motivate yourself that rich people like Elon Musk play a game, they are rich already, they are having enough money to never work again, do you? You need to act like you, not like them, they can play now, they can have fun however they like, because, unlike us, they can afford it, we don’t.
improve your skills. regardless of how much money you have, you should never stop improving your skills. Your skills are the main asset that you have, even if you have a lot of money and one day maybe loose everything, with the right skills, you can climb back up really quickly. I’m talking about important skills like sales, marketing or any skills that would help you regardless of your financial situations, skills that are not easy to get.
Now let’s see why you are paid so little. The ammount of money you make is based on the difficulty level that you can solve problems. if you solve low level problems like washing a car, you will get paid accordingly to the value that you gave. Of course little things that everybody can do will not have a high value and won’t be paid very well, this is why you need skills that are not common for anyone to have, in order to solve more difficult problems, you need to offer a higher value and you will get paid accordingly.
