How to Make a Blog and Monetize it

I’m gonna show you how you can have your own blog online and running in no time, how to write articles and most importantly, how to monetize it so that you can earn money out of it.

Let’s get started!
Creating the blog itself requires 2 things: a domain and a webhost.
The domain is that website name: like yourblog.com, this website name it’s not free and it’s price varies from domain to domain. A dot com will have a different price than a .net .org and so on. All these domain names needs to be paid for at least one year. In other words, they can only be rented to you, if you buy let’s say google.com for a year, and don’t renew it when it expires, it becomes available for anyone to buy. Of course you can pay for it for more than just a year. Prices for domain names with .com should be somewhere around 10 dollars.
Watch until the end for a secret way of getting a free domain name for life.
After we have the domain name, we will need a web hosting. This means we have the website name but in order for it to be online available for everyone with your stuff on it, we need a computers or a server to keep those files available 24/7. This is called a webhost. Webhosting can be paid every month, the price will however go down if you pay for it for longer periods of time. Paying it month after month is the most expensive way to have it.
If you’re new to all this, you should purchase the domain name and the webhosting from the same company, otherwise you’ll have to manually set the nameservers of your domain to the webhosting company. Most webhosting companies will have autoinstallers in their control panel, just install wordpress there with a few clicks. It is the best engine and the most used one for blogging. it’s super customizable, you can change your blog’s theme at anytime, create pages, install plugins and so much more. If you’re going to make a blog, this is the one thing you need most: wordpress.
After we have wordpress installed on our website, we need to log in with our admin account. The link for the login page should be available for you in the web hosting control panel, or right after the installation is done, they usually give you the admin login link.
This is the cpanel, or the control panel of wordpress. It might look a bit confusing and complicated at start, but trust me, it’s really easy to use after you get a little used with it.
So the main part of the blog consists in your posts area, your categories, comments and pages which you can find in the top side of the menu in the left. We are not going to actually explain every little detail here as it is really simple to use.
So after you have a few posts, go to the appearance section and choose themes. Click on add new and select a theme you’d like for your blog, after you found one you like, click on the blue install button on it. In case it’s not self activated, go back to the themes and click on activate on the theme you chose earlier. From this moment, your blog should look like that new theme you chose. You can also customize it as you like which I highly recommend.
Alright so the next step is monetization. Your blog looks great, it has amazing content but nobody’s paying you. For this we’re going to go to the plugins menu and add a new plugin.
Search for “Site Kit by Google”, find the plugin and click Install Now. After you’ve installed the plugin, click Activate. Click Start Setup and then follow the steps to set up Site Kit. After you’ve completed the setup, click Connect Service under “AdSense”.
Of course you’ll need an Google AdSense account for this to work.

If you decide to have your own blog, this video will show you how to get more views and make even more money than adsense is paying you.
